 FRNM Looks Bookish but Speaks Volumes
 For months we wondered why Dr. Sally Ann Drucker,
 Bulletin editor, prowled around the FRNM library,
 checked through back issues of journals, and muttered
 to herself.
 We now know the reason. In December, Scarecrow

 dren: An Annotated Bibliography, coauthored by Dr.
 Drucker and Ms. Athena A. Drewes.
 The team of Drewes and Drucker began when both
 were affiliated with Maimonides Medical Center's Divi-
 sion of Parapsychology and Psychophysics. In several
 experiments, they tested children using m & m candies
 for "immediate feedback." Through this work, published
 in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Re-
 search, Research in Parapsychology, and elsewhere, they
 realized the need for an annotated bibliography on
 children's psi.
 Their book contains sections on Clairvoyance, Telep-
 athy, Precognition, Psychokinesis, Poltergeists/RSPK,'
 and Reincarnation, with a total of 463 entries. It also
 includes the full versions of papers from the "Parapsy-
 chology and Children" panel presented at the 1990 PA
 Convention.  Drs. Palmer and Kanthamani are other
 FRNM contributors to the volume, which can be ordered
 directly from FRNM.
 Its arrival follows Ballantine's fall publication of Para-
 psychology: The Controversial Science, by Dr. Richard
 Dr. Drucker presents book to Dr. Rao for FRNM library.
 Broughton (see Fall 1991 Bulletin). His book was recently
 selected for the Quality Paperback Book Club and our
 phones continue to ring with requests for Dr.
 Broughton's media appearances. The first week of Feb-
 ruary, he appeared daily on Greensboro's WFMY-TV
 Good Morning Show. Mr. Lee Kinard, the producer/host,
 had filmed TV documentaries of the Rhines in the 1960s.
 Dr. Broughton's book can also be ordered directly from
 FRNM.
 International Visitors Put FRNM on Their Maps

 FRNM's international appeal recently brought us vis-
 itors from Japan, the Ukraine, and Iceland.
 In November, the Japanese Broadcasting Company
 informally interviewed Dr. Richard Broughton. One of
 the producers, Ms. Hiroko Haruta, was researching pre-
 liminary sites for a program dealing with paradigm shifts,
 to be filmed later this year. Dr. Broughton, who recently
 published Parapsychology: The Controversial Science,
 provided Ms. Harutawith information on FRNM's current
 research and background material on a wide range of
 parapsychological topics. The producers felt that the
 field of parapsychology could be viewed as an example
 of a paradigm shift in science.
 In early December, another Japanese film crew vis-
 ited FRNM, this one eager to demonstrate to Japanese
 audiences how American scientists conduct parapsy-
 chological research, and in particular, how FRNM orients
 its research program. Ms. Michiyo Yamamoto, a pro-
 gram director with Japan Tel   i  "VirorksW; spent a
 day at FRNM with her TV crew, filming for a program on
 precognition to be aired in Japan in late December. Dr.
 Broughton demonstrated the computerized methods for
 testing psychokinesis as well as explained and demon-
 strated the computerized game, "ESPerciser."  Dr.
 Kanthamani described FRNM's ganzfeld procedures and
 conducted an informal ganzfeld trial that had excellent
 results. Both Drs. Broughton and Kanthamani were in-
 terviewed concerning methodology and research at
 other labs in the U.S. and abroad.
 Dr. Yuri Petushkov came to us for several days in
 November frdT  iT eTJkraine's Biosensory Nontraditional
 Technologies research center. His staff includes experts
 in physics, biophysics, neurophysiology, biology, and
 psychology. They have been studying electromagnetic
 properties of the brain, working from the assumption
 that the subiect's visualization of a result creates inter-
 nal electromagnetic chap es that can interact with the
 external environment He described succe ssfuT results
 in changing the molecular structures of copper and
 blood samples.
 In late December, FRNM received a visit from Dr.
 Erlendur Haraldsson of the University of Iceland in
 Reykjavik, Iceland, a FRNM researcher from 1969-1970.
 At our weekly research meeting, Dr. Haraldsson pre-
 sented an update on his experiments using the Defense
 Mechanism Test. Dr. Haraldsson's visit gave FRNMftes
 the opportunity to catch up with an old friend and with
 research taking place at other facilities. We look forward
 to his next visit.
