Open AI Summary

This document is a session procedures report from the CIA's Project Sun Streak, part of the Stargate program. The session took place on October 1, 1987, and the target country is not specified. The monitor was provided with additional guidelines for the session based on the Source's earlier work. The Source initially started in Stage IV but found that the provided coordinates only produced superficial information about the site. The monitor attempted to redirect the Source's focus to the intelligence question by replacing the coordinates with the mission number, but this trick failed. Before the session, the Source engaged in a conversation with the monitor about previous difficulties with the site, leading to administrative discussions. Despite a break, the session did not go smoothly, and the Source seemed unable to move away from focusing on a specific site element. The summary of the session is attached and similar to earlier ones, with the Source mentioning a body of water near the site. Comments at the end suggest directing the Source around the site instead of allowing them to roam freely in order to avoid subconscious aversions or repulsions to key elements.

 PROJECT SUN STREAK (U)
WARNING NOTICE: INTELLIGENCE SOURCES AND METHODS INVOLVED
 Session Procedures Report (S/NF/SK)
 ----------------------------------------------------------
PROJECT NUMBER: 8715 SESSION NUMBER: 3
DATE OF SESSION: 1 OCT 87 TARGET COUNTRY:
 REFERENCE: MISSION STATUS:
TECHNIQUE UTILIZED: CRV SOURCE IDENTIFIER: 018
 1. (S/NF/SK) Monitor Tasking: The monitor was provided with
suggested additional guidelines (attached), based upon the Source's
 earlier session work.
 2. (S/NF/SK) Source Tasking: The Source was initially directed to
begin the session in Stage IV by placing the originally-provided
coordinates outside the matrix. But the Source informed the monitor
that these coordinates seemed to produce information which the Source
perceived to be associated with only a superficial description of the
site. The monitor then attempted to exploit this (erroneous) idea by
instructing the Source to cross out the coordinates and replace them
with the mission number (8715), the intention being to get the
Source's mind focused upon the intelligence question (i.e., the
"target") vs. the site. This trick ultimately failed. Also, just
prior to the start of the session, the Source engaged the monitor in a
conversation the details of which centered around the Source's earlier
difficulty experienced with this site. This conversation led to other
topics, mostly of an administrative nature. These kinds of
conversations prior to a session, however necessary, are nevertheless
disruptive, i.e., do not set the stage for a smooth session. The
session in fact did not go smoothly, and was restarted after a break--
the Source could not seem to break away from the narrow, single site
 element of the "pile".
 3. (S/NF/SK) Summary: Attached; pretty much the same as earlier
ones. The Source again mentions that a body of water lies in the
 vicinity of the site.

 4. (S/NF/SK) Comments: At the bottom of the monitor's bag of tricks
lies the tool of directing the Source around the site, rather than
allowing the Source to "roam" at leisure, looking for "the answer"--it
may be that there is a subconscious or unconscious aversion/repulsion
to a key element of the target. (For example, this particular Source
has been known to avoid, i.e., not recognize and objectify, percepts
which are connected with the idea of "death").
