The detachment would continue to use the SSPD designation and receive administrative support from the Battalion's headquarters. MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: Notification of Disestablishment of CENTER LANE
1. (S/NF/WNINTEL) On 13 March 1985 I met with LTC David Clark,
CDR, MI Bn(S), 902c1 MIG, to inform him that the MOA that
attached CENTER LANE to DIA became effective on 7 March 1985.
This attachment would have no direct impact on the Battalion,
and no change on the relationship between the detachment and the
Battalion was expected during the period of attachment.
2. (S/NF/WNINTEL) During the period of attachment, the former
CL unit would continue to use the SSPD designation, and use the
Batallion's headquarters for administrative support. LTC Clark
approved this approach.
3. (S/NF/WNINTEL) I told LTC Clark that I considered this
discussion formal notification of the attachment, and that for
security reasons I would not notify him in writing. I would,
however, prepare a letter to the OPSEC Support Detachment,
notifying them of the attachment, and the cancellation of the
formal requirement for OPSEC support.
