Conference on the Chemistry of Col-
 loids and Physical-Chemical Mechanics
concluded its work yesterday in Tash-
kent. In the course of four days,
 scientists discussed timely questions
of the advancement of research which
is of great theoretical and applied
 importance.
Commenting on the results of this
 forum, academician I. V. Petryanov-

 the Scientific Research Institute of

a State Prize laureate, said: "Tak-

 than 500 researchers representing
 the largest scientific centers of
 Moscow, Leningrad, Kiyev, Minsk and
many other cities of our country.

 physical-chemical mechanics -- could
 not find employment. Chemists of
Uzbekistan are making a great con-
tribution to this science. I should
like to single out research which is
being pursued by scientists of the
 Tashkent Polytechnical Institute.
The main direction of their develop-
 ments is the practical utilization
 of industrial waste products, which
