 Very-truly yours,
 June 10, 1976
I would like to thank you for the exceptional dinner which
your prepared during my visit to Washington last month. I
enjoyed the company of all the guests which had taken the
trouble to come. I think you have a fine crew with many
 diversified interests.
For your information, I am enclosing a copy of a letter from
the editor of the Russian edition of Proceedings as well as
a copy of a letter typical of many critical of the Targ and
Puthoff paper. You might be especially interested in the
comments by our Russian editor concerning changes in trans-
lation of the Targ and Puthoff paper. He feels that the
references to Russian work in this paper are seriously in-
complete and outdated. It is perhaps significant that this
is the only time they have ever proposed changing a paper in
translation. I think too that nearly every paper we publish
is deficient in its reference to Soviet work, so that it is
worthy of note that only in this instance are they proposing
to change a paper because of this deficiency.
The other letter I have enclosed, by Calkins, is not particu-
larly note worthy, but it is typical of a number of other
letters critical of the work because of the lack of proper
 controls in the experiment.
Make. of these what you will. I will hope to see you some time
 again in the future.
