TOPIC: STAR GATE Overview Briefing (U)
SUMMARY: (S/NF/WN) This responds to the Director's
question of our 28 Jan 94 SAR, "What prompted
his interest?" Mr. Danzig's interest in STAR
GATE was prompted by a recent briefing that
was presented to him by Mr. John Petersen of
the Arlington Institute on non-lethal
warfare. During that briefing Mr. Petersen
informed the Under Secretary of our probable
existence. Mr. Petersen, a retired US Army
COL, was once assigned to USAINSCOM at Fort
Meade, MD, in the early 80's. As a result,
Mr. Danzig contracted RADM Shaefer, USN,
Director of Naval Intelligence, who in-turn
contacted the Director, NMIPC, requesting the
briefing.
