Summary:

These documents from the CIA's Stargate program contain session information and a tasking sheet related to the situation in Somalia in December 1992. The session information includes details such as the task and target number, session date, start and stop time, method used, and a session summary. The session summary suggests that the situation in Somalia is expected to worsen in the coming week with ongoing clan warfare, and US military involvement will be required. It is noted that other countries will provide troops over time, but there will be resistance to US intervention and blockages of food despite increased troop presence. Humanitarian efforts are expected to be effective given time. The tasking sheet requests information on specific military, civilian, and political activities or events in Somalia up to December 17, 1992, with a focus on the United Nations, US military involvement, and third world reactions. It also requests the identification of the most significant person, place, or thing associated with current events in Somalia.

 E. SESSION SUMMARY
The situation in Somalia will be seen in the next week or so as
increasingly dim. U.S. military involvement will be required as
long as the clans are presantly at war. In accordance with the
United Nations, other countries will provide some troops over time
for the cause. More people will die as a result of the actions and
upheaval in Somalia. An increased amount of american taxpayers
money will be spent on intervention which will give rise to
resistance in this effort even within the U.S. The Somalian
situation is not to be just an American involvement and will have
to be adhered to by other countries as proposed by the United
Nations. There will be some further blockage of food sent to
Somalia despite the fact that more troops will be available to
insure the delivery of supplies. Humanitarian efforts will be
 considered effective given time.
